Reporting to the Vice President of Operations at KINA, the Mendota Plant Manager will oversee and coordinate production, maintenance, quality assurance, and compliance functions at the Mendota site. Responsibilities include ensuring operations align with company objectives, budget goals, fabrication quality systems, and customer satisfaction. The Plant Manager will play a key role in fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and compliance, while also managing projects and implementing systems with a focus on manufacturing cost reduction. This position involves leading the entire on-site operations team and collaborating regularly with the KINA Operations team.

Key Duties Include

Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Performs work in a safe manner; promotes and fosters a safe work environment through safety leadership. Strives to build a strong safety culture.
  2. Provides general administration and direction for all facility and maintenance operations.
  3. Owns and is accountable for plant manufacturing variances and performance.
  4. Follows Kingspan Operational Excellence model and leads the team to follow as well.
  5. Directs subordinate personnel, managers and supervisors to effectively and efficiently coordinate activities for all assigned functional areas of responsibility.
  6. Develops all organizational directives, policies and procedures that ensure effective operations and programs for facilities management.
  7. Reviews processing and maintenance schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  8. Reviews fabrication and maintenance operations and confers with technical or sales support staff to resolve production or processing problems.
  9. Develops or implements production tracking or quality control systems, analyzing production, fabrication quality control, maintenance, or other operational reports to detect production problems.
  10. Initiates or coordinates inventory or cost control programs in the Manufacturing and Maintenance Operations.
  11. Coordinates or recommends procedures for facility, equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
  12. Identifies area of opportunity and improvement and addresses them with lean manufacturing principles.
  13. Maintains strategic operational plan for capital investment for site.
  14. Prepares annual operating budget in collaboration with subordinate personnel; develops and recommends an annual capital budget for long-range repairs and improvements to the facility; authorizes the requisition of equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.
  15. Conduct workforce assessments periodically and in conjunction with Human Resources so that staffing needs can be measured, training and development goals can be established, and contingent workforce options can be used to create an optimally staffed and trained workforce able to respond to the needs of the business. Resolve workplace conflicts, investigate misconduct, wrongdoing and determine appropriate adverse actions.
  16. Institutes employee suggestions or involvement programs. Cultivates a team environment.

Management Duties: Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Incumbent will have two (2-4) direct reports.

 

All Employees have the following compliance obligations: 

  1. Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Product Compliance Policy. 
  2. Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations and market demands. 
  3. Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of Compliance Management System. 
  4. Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: BS in engineering or other related engineering discipline, construction or related field required.  Minimum of (5) five years of experience in production management, or BS in business, plus at least seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment where at least five (5) of those years are in a production management role with progressive responsibility and experience leading a multidisciplinary team of facility personnel.

 

Requirements:

  • Proficient in utilizing business computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with and application of contemporary manufacturing techniques.
  • Understanding of labor and OSHA laws and adherence to requirements.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and analytical skills, coupled with effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to manage multiple tasks with prioritization.
  • Excellent communication skills, including effective interpersonal interactions and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Capacity to handle highly complex issues and maintain composure under pressure.
